Hello, my name is Jeff Devine and I am a musician, whisky snob, coffee appreciator, amateur sartorialist, family man and founder of ExecutiveView.
I am originally from Indianapolis and took a slight yet regretful detour to Atlanta. I moved to New York City in 2003 and have never been happier. I met my amazing wife Lauren Devine going to a Ladysmith Black Mambazo concert in Park Slope, Brooklyn. She also happens to be from Indianapolis, but I chalk that up to coiencedence. We live in Long Island City, Queens with our incredible son Maxwell Cosmo Devine. We collectively long for cats, a third bedroom and more hours in the day.
For a short time, I made my living in Indianapolis as a jazz musician. After moving to New York, I realized I would never nor should be Elvin Jones and started branching out. I had the pleasure of working with:
- Lauren Cregor
- Hotbird 7
- Alex Weinstein
- David Devine
- Nathan Tysen
- Maddy Wyatt
- John Grant/The Czars
- Matt Boyer
A few choice tracks of my playing from the past ten years:
- Hotbird 7 - Can’t Calm Down (live)
- Alex Weinstein - Waltz
- Maddy Wyatt - Habits We Keep
- Greybird - The Same Line
- Greybird - Always
- The Czars - Queen of Denmark (live)
After moving to LIC, I started a songwriter and musician’s collective with Lauren called Creek Creativethat performed on the 2nd Thursday of every month in Long Island City at The Creek. Creek Creative was an excuse to make sure we are playing monthly but more importantly providing a platform to push ourselves in directions we normally wouldn’t go.
Sets consited of music from the Emmitt Otter, Countrypolitan or improvise music with loop pedals and iPhones. It was a incredible experience but the energy to organize and execute outweighed the enjoyment it was giving back. Our final show was three days before our wedding and featured sets from family members.
