Do you see me leaning on your car?

I’m completely addicted to the Mondo Boy’s “faded out late-summer mix” Weird Summer :

“…created exclusively to get you through those last few incredibly sticky days of the hottest god damn summer you can remember. Fuel for the fire. Grab that boom box, hit the beach, and turn up the volume.”

It made me an instant fan of Richard Swift, Atlas Sound, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and The Love Language.

They recommend serving before Sept 21st so go grab the MP3s tonight and enjoy the last few days of summer.

Tax Resources for Musicians

I can’t take credit for finding these, they were sent to me by my helpful Sweetwater representative Keith:

  • Info on what you can deduct from your taxes (includes spreadsheets and such)
  • Depreciation for equipment (Section 179 stuff)
  • Business deductions if you have a business (studio, production company, etc).

Harmonious Christmas

I bought Lauren a TC Helicon VoiceTone HarmonyM for Christmas. The pedal will harmonize your voice in real-time based on a midi signal. We used an old Casio for the midi singal and my dad’s acoustic amp and the result is her four-part harmony version of Emmet Otter’s “When River Meets the Sea”. My brother jumped in on guitar.

This is my iPhone recording of the masterpiece: MP3
